We have been busy busy busy at the new house - and have a number of new animal arrivals!

First of all, the poultry collection has re-commenced and we have around 15 hens now as part of the ever-extending family. Having owned Marans and Welsummers before, we are trying a few new breeds too.  So far we have a small collection of Lohmann Brown (hybrid, very productive layers), Light Sussex, Pekins, Araucanas and ... two welsummers!

With the hens having settled in nicely, it was time to further expand the menagerie and, thanks to Morven Macfarlane, 10 beautiful Shetland Sheep came to Biggar at the beginning of October. These impeccably mannered young ladies range from 1 to 9 years and have great pedigrees encompassing the well-known Rench flock.  We are looking forward to living with these girls and who knows, maybe even breeding out own lambs and getting out to a show or two!

Last on the list of new arrivals are possibly the most exciting - in our opinion ... Eva's new puppies!  7 beautiful babies arrived at the middle of September and we are thrilled with them.  Looking forward to seeing them grow and blossom.

Your blog held my interest right to the very end, which is not always an easy thing to do!! A debt of gratitude is in order for the decent blog. It was extremely helpful for me. Continue sharing such thoughts later on too. This was really what I was searching for, and I am happy to come here!
